Root Yourself in a New Philosophy

Welcome, one and all! I appreciate that your pregnancy and birth journey has lead you to Deeply Rooted Birth and Doula Services. I am Regina Tilley, owner and doula, and I am ecstatic to share my birth philosophy with new and repeat parents of the Houston, Texas area.

As a lover of all things holistic, natural, and generally "counter-culture", my journey into doula work was inevitable. I've long been fascinated with anatomy and physiology, promising my family I'd be the first doctor. Somewhere along the way, the intrigue of the human body became clouded with questions surrounding common medical practices, and social influences on health and medicine. Soon, naturopathic medicine caught my attention as a way to provide personalized medical care based on natural occurring products and emotional support.

I began working as a doula, under the strong guidance of one of Houston's premier labor doulas, Ms. Patti Heimlich. I am a certified birth and Hypnodoula. I also hold certifications in newborn care, first aid, and CPR. I have attended over 30 births in the past year. My ultimate goal it to become a midwife dedicated to supporting female reproductive freedom and health.

The basis of doula work is to give families an alternative to the traditional labor and delivery experience. I believe birth can be a highly transformative experience when approached with openness, acceptance, support, and information. My clients enjoy a birth in which they are able to understand, weigh, and choose from the vast array of birth options and perinatal paraphernalia.  

My work as a doula allows me to help families understand and establish their own birth philosophy. Those seeking natural alternatives can find some example in our healing herbal baths, electrolyte drinks, and lactation snacks.
